How our technology works:

Our results so far...

Preliminary fish data showed that a single subcutaneous administration of symbiotic particles delivering different therapeutic agents achieved:

  • sustained plasma levels

  • delivery of the therapeutic agents to multiple organs

  • an early safety signal characterized by reduced IL-1β (a pro-inflammatory cytokine)

  • no observed acute adverse events.

A 40-day SPRIND-funded follow-up study injecting subcutaneously symbiotic particles delivering Follistatin as therapeutic agent in aged mice showed:

  • that living microalgae remained localized at the injection site without detectable proliferation

  • that Follistatin was confirmed in target muscle and skin tissues,

  • no observed local or systemic inflammatory or immune response

  • good local tolerability throughout the study
